Primary responsibilities
- Design and implement complex data pipelines and architectures within the Azure environment using services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Databricks.
- Manage and optimize SQL databases, including Azure SQL DB, SQL Server ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain scalable and efficient data processing/reporting systems using tools like Spark, Python, and Power BI.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Provide expertise in data governance and business analysis to enhance data quality and usability.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in data-driven development, agile methodologies, and responsible experimentation.
- Support the team in adopting tools like Azure DevOps for project management and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
What we require
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record in Azure cloud services.
- Proficiency in managing and deploying services in Azure, ideally including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Azure SQL Database.
- Expertise in SQL and familiarity with various databases like SQL Server, Oracle or Teradata.
- Experience with building ETL processes, ideally in ADF and DataBricks, to handle data integration, transformation, and loading.
- Programming skills in Python, especially PySpark and SparkSQL.
- Communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English, with a proficiency level of at least B2, ideally C1.
